Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, Kai was introduced to the game early on by his father who was the founder Peace Lacrosse the World of many high school lacrosse teams in the area. At a young age, Kai had the honor of playing with the Menomonee and the Lakota tribes, which left a lasting impression of the power of the Creator’s Game both on and off the field. After starting the club program at Wheaton Academy his freshman year, Kai began coaching at the age of 15. He went on to play both MCLA lacrosse and DIII football at Wheaton College in Illinois where he majored in applied health science, all while being heavily involved in multiple research labs studying neurophysiology, anatomy and fitness. While playing, Kai acted as captain and president of the Wheaton Lacrosse for three years and became the team’s all-time leading scorer.
Kai went on to play for the Chicago Outlaws box team for a year before moving to Scotland to pursue a masters degree in Management of Bioeconomy, Innovation and Governance at the University of Edinburgh. There he played for the university team and was named the team MVP.
Moving back to the states, Kai founded My Lax Academy in Orlando, FL in 2020 and has since dedicated much if his time to growing the game at the youth and high school level. Combining his love for the game and for health science, Kai works to instill positive mental and fitness habits in his players and is committed to developing the next generation of young men and women through the sport. Kai has been coaching players from 1st grade to the undergrad level for the last 15 years and hopefully many more.
